Pop To The Aylsham Cinema Back In Time!!!
POPCORN PRODUCTION:
Aylsham Cinema was opened in September 1937 by Lady Walpole. It was on Cawston Road near the town centre. Inside, you could buy chocolates or candy. Tickets for a great seat cost six pence and for a ok seat it cost three pence which meant you could go back a bit so you had good view! Between 300 and 400 children visited the County Cinema on Saturday to see a film called 'Curly Top'. It showed films like Snow White and films which had a different stories each week. One was called Buck Jones and the Phantom Riders.

Youth Club Bites :
The first meeting of The Youth Club was held in August 1950 in the Scout Hut on Petersons Lane. The club moved in 1953 to The Drill Hall and people met there until 1957. As the club grew, it was agreed by the education committee in January 1962 to purchase County Cinema to convert this to a Youth Centre. The new centre was officially opened on January the 13th 1965.
