Pages supply store
Pages was a large homeware store in the middle of Aylsham town square. It sold many items such as: .Chairs .Coffee tables .Bed sheets .Lamps Anything you would find around your house today, you could probably finds in Pages. It also sold clothes and had a department where you could buy hats. |
In approximately 1960 (around 57 years ago) pages had a repair toward the back of the shop. But unfortunately while it was being fixed, the front of the shop collapsed into the road leaving everybody in shock.
Now, where Pages used to be is Flour and Bean, next door being Hallmark. .
Henry page information:
The biggest store in town was Henry Pages. In the store, cables ran to a central room which was slightly raised, when you paid in your money it was screwed into a small container and after a bell pull was pulled the container would be transported to the small central room. Your change would be sorted out here and then put back in the container and sent back to you.

Did you know that Pages had lots of staff more than any shop in Aylsham. There were at least 27 members of staff who worked in Pages , and although that may not sound a lot, many shops only had around 2 workers.
